Airbnb’s new AirCover for guests offers a number of customer satisfaction guarantees with the aim of taking some of the uncertainty out of choosing to stay in a home rather than a hotel.

Now included for free with every Airbnb booking, AirCover provides guests with peace-of-mind through four key protections:

• Booking protection guarantee – If your Host cancels your booking within 30 days of check-in, Airbnb will find another place to stay that’s as good or better for your chosen dates. If that’s not possible, they will refund you.
• Check-in guarantee – If you can’t check into your booking and the Host is unable to resolve the issue, Airbnb will find you a similar or better property for the length of your stay, or they will refund you.
• Get-what-you-booked guarantee – So, you check in and you discover that the property you’re staying just doesn’t match the listing (i.e. it doesn’t have as many beds as listed or the promised big screen TV isn’t working) and the Host can’t fix it, Airbnb will find you a similar or better property, or your money back.
• 24-hour safety line – Day or night, if you feel unsafe during your stay, you can contact Airbnb’s specially trained safety agents.
